In poker, each player has the right to place his or her bet. The first player to place a bet is called the “ante.” After that, the next player to bet is said to call, while the person who is betting more than the previous bettor raises is called the “raise.” Similarly, a player who checks is said to stay in without betting. In a game of poker, the betting interval ends when the last player has bet or checked.

When players are playing poker, they are required to put some money into the pot before the game begins. This is called an ante. A player who places a bet is called a “caller” and the player who matches the previous bettor’s bet is said to raise. In some variants, a 53-card pack is used with a joker as a wild card. Regardless of the rules, the final arbiter should be a written Poker law.
