A slot in a conversation is an entity that represents a given value. An utterance may include one or more slots, or none of them. The bot uses a mapping to determine the types of entities represented in the slots. Built-in slots can map to the number of rooms and nights required. Custom slot types can map to other variables, such as the type of room requested and the date. The user can add a Slot to a conversation by navigating to the Uterance or Slots tab and entering the name of the slot.
