The Definition of Beauty

Beauty is commonly defined as a mental or physical trait of objects which makes these objects enjoyable to see. These objects may include sunsets, landscapes, beautiful humans and creative works of art. Beauty, with art and beauty, is the primary subject of aesthetics, among the major branches of modern philosophy. It can also be used to refer to a set of attitudes that support a person’s attitude towards beauty, including an acceptance of beauty in its broadest sense. A more specific example of beauty might be the way a building looks from the outside.

The word beauty has various different meanings and can mean different things to different people. It is typically used in regards to beauty practices in one’s own society and is generally linked with beauty which can be seen in human beauty. A common cultural definition of beauty used in popular culture is the beauty found in models and the runway.

The social media has also created a new meaning of beauty. With the proliferation of social media such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter, the definition of beauty has changed dramatically. In the popular culture, beauty is usually defined in terms of being beautiful to the point of being absurd, or at the very least, pleasing to the eye. This definition is most commonly found on the Internet.

The definition of beauty in the fashion industry is quite different. For the majority of the clothing and fashion industry, beauty is defined by the quality of a garment. For example, a dress that is designed for a slim body is considered beautiful because the dress can make the wearer appear slim, rather than being fat. Conversely, a dress which is made to flatter a larger frame is deemed beautiful. Beauty in this industry is judged not only by the way a garment fits and the appeal it creates, but also by how well the wearer is able to market themselves through their clothing.

The definition of beauty found on the social media is different as well. Beauty on the social media platform is often based entirely on a persons personal aesthetic sense of beauty. On the social media platform, beauty is almost always associated with self-confidence and personality. Whether the person wearing the clothing is trying to project an image of cool elegance or fun and sassy allure, they are always going to be judged harshly by the people who see them.

This lack of standardization has created a lot of beauty queens in the fashion industry. People such as Amber Rose, Jasmine Styles and Ongina are considered to be the new face of modern beauty. They are recognized for their uniqueness and their ability to use social media to reach millions of people. Whether beauty is defined through physical beauty or social media savvy, the power brokers in the fashion industry have no one on their side but themselves. It is amazing what can be printed and broadcast on a daily basis, and it is this power that allows the average woman to make a difference in their own lives by changing their own definition of beauty.
